Tax Consultant Graduate Trainee. £29,000
This leading City of London based accountants and consultants have an excellent reputation and are now looking for an articulate and enthusiastic graduate to join one of their expanding tax teams on their graduate tax consultant trainee programme
Duties will include
Work on a portfolio of personal tax clients within the Private Client Team.
Prepare or on occasion review self-assessment tax returns, capital gains tax computations and other tax compliance work.
Prepare income and expenditure accounts from both manual and computerised records.
Arrange payments of tax either directly or via the client.
Agree liabilities or arranging for appeals.
Draft correspondence to H M Revenue & Customs.
Recommend improvements to clients’ records, systems and practices and assist as and when needed.
Organise and run every assignment as effectively and efficiently as possible to the firm’s standards and to ensure effective completion before review.
Ensure that the firm’s professional standards are complied with in planning, control and review;
Liaise with clients as necessary to further good relations and promote the firm’s image and to sell other services available.
Liaise with the line manager in connection with monitoring the management of your portfolio to control work-in-progress and to raise fee notes as early as possible during every assignment.
Work with team members and clients at all times to produce work effectively and to further good relations and to promote the firm’s image and services.
The company offer a comprehensive, fully supervised training program, which extends over a period of approximately 36 months and you will undertake the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) professional tax qualifications before training to be a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA). A closely monitored and structured program of tuition is provided by a top firm of external tutors and training consists of a combination of courses at the tutors’ offices, private study and regular tests. Paid study leave is granted and course and examination fees are paid for first attempts.
A 2.1 degree in any discipline combined with a minimum of 120 new/300 old system UCAS Tariff points and excellent GCSE's with a minimum of a B grade in English and Maths, or equivalent are essential
